Gooseberry and Tomato Chutney

GOOSEBERRY AND TOMATO CHUTNEY
INGREDIENTS:
250 gm Gooseberries (cut into halves)
300 gm Tomato (cut into halves)
1 Bay Leaf
1" Cinnamon Stick
2 Cardamoms
100 gm Raisins
100 gm Seedless Dates
1 tsp red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Vinegar Powder
150-200 gm Sugar
Salt to taste
METHOD
Heat 100 ml of water.
Add the whole spices and bring to the boil.
Lower the flame and add the tomatoes, berries, dates and cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
Mix in the spices and stir.
Add the vinegar and continue to cook on a low flame.
When the chutney begins to thicken and the mixture is pulpv, mix in the sugar and stir well.
Cook till the sugar melts and till the chutney reaches the desired consistency.
Add the raisins and mix well.
Serve cold or at room temperature.
