Methi Dal Fry

METHI DAL FRY
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup Chana Dal
2 small-sized Onions (finely chopped}
1 tsp Garlic Paste
1 cup Methi Leaves (chopped)
1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Green Chilli
(finely chopped)
1 tsp Cumin Seeds
2 tbsp Ghee
1/2tsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 cup Tomato Pieces
Salt to taste

METHOD
Soak the dal overnight or for at least 6 hours.
Add enough water, salt and turmeric and cook in a pressure cooker.
Heat ghee in a pan, put the cumin seeds into it.
When they crackle, add the onions, green chillies and the garlic paste.
Cook for a while and add the methi leaves, and the tomato pieces.
Cook covered for 2 minutes on a low flame.
Add the red chilli powder.
Mix in the cooked dal.
Cook for another 5 minutes.
Garnish with corianders and mint leaves.
